Coverage

Communities we deliver to

We run dumpsters out of our 2303 S Greenwood Dr yard across every corner of Johnson City and out into Washington County and the Tri-Cities region. If your community is not on this list, call us anyway. We probably still get there.

Before you call

Have these four things ready

  1. 1

    The delivery address

Street address, and if access is tight — a narrow driveway, a shared lot, a steep drive near Buffalo Mountain — mention it. We plan around it either way.

  2. 2

    What is going in it

Household contents, roofing, mixed construction debris, furniture, yard waste — and flag anything hazardous, like chemicals, fuels, whole tires, lead-acid batteries or refrigerant-containing appliances, so we can guide you on safe disposal instead of loading it in with everything else.

  3. 3

    Where it should sit

Driveway, curb lane or jobsite. In most cases, placement entirely on your own property needs no permit; a street or curb placement is a different matter — tell us when you book and we'll walk you through it.

  4. 4

    When you need it

Same day, tomorrow morning, or a set date — and roughly how long you want to keep it. Extensions are easy to arrange, but planning ahead is best.

Permits & digging

Property vs. public right-of-way, and calling Tennessee 811

On your own property

A dumpster that sits entirely on your own driveway, yard or lot is how the large majority of jobs we deliver across Johnson City and Washington County get set up — placement on private property generally does not trigger a municipal placement permit. If you're not sure exactly where your property line falls, ask us when you book and we'll tell you plainly before the truck ever leaves the yard.

On the street or right-of-way

Placing a container in a public street, a parking lane or anywhere else in the right-of-way is where a local placement permit typically comes into play. Exact fees, paperwork and permitted durations vary by exactly where your address sits, so we won't guess at a number we can't confirm in writing — check with the City of Johnson City's permitting office if you're inside city limits, or Washington County's if you're in the unincorporated county, before you plan on curb placement. Ask us when you book and we'll help you sort out whether your job even needs one. And if the job also involves digging — a fence line, footings, a new driveway apron — call Tennessee 811 at 811 (or (800) 351-1111) at least three business days before anything goes in the ground, whether or not you're renting from us. Tennessee 811 is the state's only real call-before-you-dig program — calling a utility company directly does not satisfy the law.

Answers

Contact questions

What information do you need when I call?

Four things, and the call takes about two minutes: the delivery address, roughly what you're throwing away, where you want the container to sit, and when you need it. If you're unsure about the size, describe the pile and we will size it. A photo of the driveway or curb helps if the placement is tight.

Do you serve my community?

We cover Johnson City and out to Jonesborough, Elizabethton, Kingsport, Bristol and Unicoi — 5 communities in all, spanning Washington County and the Tri-Cities region. Just outside that? Call anyway — we can usually make it work.

What are your hours?

Mon–Sat 7:00am – 7:00pm. Deliveries and collections run through the working day. Ring outside that window and leave your address on a message — we'll call back first thing.

Can I email instead of calling?

You can email info@jkdumpsterrentaljohnsoncity.com and we'll reply, but the phone is far quicker for anything time-sensitive. Sizing a container is a conversation — two questions on a call usually settles what an email thread will not. For same-day delivery, always ring.

Is there a charge for a quote?

No. Quotes are free and given over the phone, not an estimate that moves later. Pricing depends on dumpster size, debris type, and rental period — tell us the job and we'll tell you exactly where yours falls, and when a smaller container does the job, before anything is booked.

Do I need a permit for my address?

Depends where the container sits. In most cases, a container entirely on your own driveway, yard or lot needs no permit. Placement in a public street or the right-of-way is a different matter and typically runs through the City of Johnson City's permitting office or Washington County's — mention it when you call and we'll walk you through what your job needs. And if the job also involves digging, call Tennessee 811 at 811 first — it's the state's only real call-before-you-dig program.
