Junk Removal across Johnson City and Washington County
A lot of what gets called "junk removal" is really a labor service — a crew shows up, hauls your stuff to a truck themselves, and bills for the hours. What we offer is different: we drop a container at your property and leave it with you.
That matters in Washington County specifically because of how the local waste system is built. The City of Johnson City's own Solid Waste Services Complex handles bulky furniture and appliance pickups by scheduled appointment through its Street Division, not routine curbside collection, and building materials or carpet aren't accepted curbside at all — they route through the environmental-center system instead, anchored by the Iris Glen Environmental Center. County residents outside city collection use a network of staffed Washington County convenience centers. None of that infrastructure is set up for a bulky, multi-day cleanout the way a dumpster sitting on your own property is. You load our container on your own timeline, at whatever pace the job actually takes, and call us when it's time for pickup — no hourly labor charge stacking up, and no trip of your own to a landfill or convenience center.
How it works
A straightforward process, start to finish
The same five steps whether it is a driveway cleanout or a live jobsite swap.
- 1
Call and tell us the job
One short conversation. We ask what you are clearing, where the box needs to sit and when you need it. No forms, no waiting on an email.
- 2
We size it and quote it flat
You get one flat-rate number covering delivery, the rental period, pickup and disposal — depending on the size you need, the debris type and how long you keep it. If a smaller box does the job we will say so.
- 3
Delivered on boards, where you want it
The driver walks the spot with you, lays protection under the rails and sets the container square in the driveway, curb lane or job site.
- 4
Load at your own pace
Keep it level with the top rail and keep the banned items out. Need a swap mid-job or an early pickup? One call and we are on it.
- 5
We haul it and sort it right
Clean concrete, metal and yard waste get routed for recovery rather than buried wherever we can. You get your driveway or curb back the way you left it.
On your schedule, not ours
Downsizing, an estate to clear out, a storefront closing up, years of accumulated stuff in a garage or attic — these jobs rarely fit into a single afternoon window, and paying by the hour for a crew standing around while you decide what stays and what goes doesn't make sense for every situation. With a container sitting on your property, you work through it in the order that makes sense to you, over however many evenings or weekends it takes within the rental period.
What has to come out of the load
Tennessee bars whole waste tires, lead-acid batteries and used oil from ordinary landfill disposal by statute — Tenn. Code Ann. Sec. 68-211-866(a), enforced under TDEC's authority over solid waste through Title 68, Chapter 211 of the Tennessee Code. That's a real statutory rule, not just guidance. Tennessee does not, however, have a comparable statewide statute banning major appliances or electronics from landfills the way it does tires and batteries — refrigerant-containing appliances are instead governed by the federal Clean Air Act's Section 608 refrigerant-recovery rule, and most local facilities, including Johnson City's own, will still want refrigerant properly evacuated and certified as a matter of facility acceptance policy rather than state law. Tell us what's in your cleanout and we'll flag anything that needs a separate disposal path before it ever goes in the box.
An estate cleanout on an older Johnson City property, a garage or attic that hasn't been touched in years, or a small storefront closing up all fit this model well. If a job turns out to need actual hauling labor, say so on the call and we'll tell you plainly whether that's something we handle or something you'll want extra hands for.

Answers
Junk Removal — your questions
How is this different from a full-service junk removal company?
A full-service company sends a crew to haul your items out themselves and typically charges by labor hour. We deliver a container and leave it with you — you load it yourself, on your own timeline, for one flat rate with no hourly labor charge.
What items can't go in the dumpster at all?
Whole waste tires, lead-acid batteries and used oil are banned from Tennessee landfills by statute (Tenn. Code Ann. Sec. 68-211-866(a)). Hazardous liquids, chemicals and fuels are never allowed either. Major appliances and electronics aren't barred by any Tennessee state law, but our own acceptance rules still apply — ask us and we'll point you toward the right disposal option.
How long can I keep the container?
Our standard rental period gives you plenty of time to work through a cleanout at your own pace. Need longer? Call and we'll extend it.
Do I need to be home when it's picked up?
No — as long as the container is accessible and loaded within the weight and fill guidelines, our driver can pick it up without you present.
Do you handle estate cleanouts?
Regularly — clearing a family member's home is one of the most common calls we get, and the load-at-your-own-pace model tends to fit that kind of job especially well, since there's rarely a single clean afternoon to get it all done.
